Imagine packing your knife in your check-in baggage when going to another state. Imagine being arrested for pocessing a Switchblade knife! Your knife is not a switchblade in the old definition, as it does not have a button or spring to pop open the blade. BUT, since your knife can be opened by a single hand, it is now considered a switchblade.

That is exactly what US Customs is considering. You could be charged with interstate transportation of a switchblade which would be a Federal Felonie (no parol or time off for good behavior) and you would lose all your rights to own a gun!

Use the follwing letter as an example. Copy and paste the following text to a word processing program, enter your personal information and date. Then print and mail out to the US Customs address in the letter. US CUSTOME IS ONLY ACCEPTING REGULAR MAIL AND WILL NOT COUNT ANY FAXES OR EMAILS. RE: PROPOSED REVOCATION OF RULING LETTERS AND REVOCATION OF TREATMENT RELATING TO THE ADMISSIBILTY [sic] OF CERTAIN KNIVES WITH SPRING-ASSISTED OPENING MECHANISMS

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in regards to your proposed revocation referenced above. I am an owner and daily user of folding knives which would appear to be covered under your proposal. Your unduly short 30-day comment period obliges me to at least let you know that it is very concerning to me on many levels and that I adamantly oppose this proposal which would have effects far beyond that suggested in the title of the proposal.

I am also contacting my U.S. Representative and my U.S. Senators to request that they take immediate action to prevent Customs from taking this rash action which could not only make criminals of millions of Americans for no reason, but could destroy an entire American industry.

Please register my strongest objection to this proposal.
