Lake Merced Shooting FacilitiesLetter 2Email to: Lakemerced@sfwater.org Dear Members of the Public Utilities Commission, I am interested in the preservation of the sports shooting and police shooting areas of Lake Merced be preserved! This is a highly enjoyed facility with a rich history for others besides the citizens of San Francisco. Funds used to preserve Land and Animal conservation in California primarily come from the proceeds of hunting and fishing licenses. Other monies used for outdoor conservation come from activities of the shooting and fishing sports like those at Lake Merced Shooting Facility. The money used to these ends do not come from "Outdoor Preservation Groups". I am requesting that your planning of future management for Lake Merced includes the shooting and fishing sports. I have many fond memories of past use of the Lake Merced shooting facility and hope future generations of our youth can have the same rich rewards. Sincerely, |
