I urge you to please reject Bill 2062. Ammunition cost is already reaching levels that are making shooting very expensive. The new restrictions in this bill will essentially ban shooting for many sportsman simply by making it too expensive. Criminals will still get ammunition they need to commit crimes and this will only deter good citizens from enjoying the sports that they love.

I also urge you to reject Bill 2948. I have been attending the Cow Palace gun shows frequently and find it a good source for legal firearms and ammunition. I have never seen any attempt by anyone to transfer a gun illegally. We will not achieve any crime reduction by destroying the gun shows.

I also urge you to reject Bill 2566.  It will not be possible for gun owners to know the differences in laws between all of the communities they might visit. This is why uniform regulations are in place. Allowing for each community to have different restrictions will turn honest gun owners into criminals in various jurisdictions when they are properly obeying the laws of the state. If reduction in crime is the goal then it does no good to make citizens who want to follow the law criminals simply because the rules change when one crosses a county or city border.

These new proposed laws will not reduce crime. I recommend we target stronger enforcement and punishment of real criminal activity instead of  targeting  honest gun owners with impractical restrictions.
