Here is a copy of the e-mail I just sent to the governor.  We need to get this issue out to your listening audience so that they will contact him as well.

 

Good gun control is hitting your target.

 

Bad gun control is that which is legislated by arrogant fools who don't understand that the 2nd amendment means exactly what it says:  "The right of the people to keep & bear arms shall NOT be infringed.  These same fools like Mark Leno & others don't have the integrity to stay within the ethical bounds of their offices to which they were elected by the people of their districts.

 

AB 821 & AB 1471 are two of the most egregious examples of bad gun control (infringements) which have ever been passed by the California Legislature.  Both of these bills have the same purpose.  To disarm law abiding citizens by destroying the gun industry in our state.

 

AB 821 is utter nonsense.  There has only been 1 case of a condor dying from lead poisoning (from eating a bullet) in the last 15 years.  The proponents of this bill want to end ammunition sales in California by ending hunting in a vast area of the state.

 

AB1471 is preposterous.  It assumes that criminals are going to buy their guns from legal sources, leave the microstamping apparatus intact, then use them to commit crimes & leave shell casings at the scene. - HA! - Criminals will gather casings at ranges then leave them at crime scenes to contaminate evidence.  Innocent law abiding citizens including law enforcement officers will be investigated for these crimes.  There is a provision to ban the sale of all non complying guns including those already in the state.  This is another attempt to ban guns by putting gun dealers out of business.

 

In my 39 years of being a California resident I have never written to a governor.  But these two bills are such bad law on a number of levels I felt compelled to do so.  I ask you to continue the strong leadership you have consistently demonstrated in the past:
