Rifle Winners At GS2AC BBQ Announced

Saturday Aug 14 was the day for the 2010 Mesquite and Skeet BBQ. And what a day it was! 200 friends and guests joined together for a wonderful day in the sun and oak tree studded hills of Morgan Hill. On hand were our friends at the California Hawking Club with live hawks and falcons who entertained the crowd with a real hunting demonstration. The Gun Fighters of the Old West re-enacted saloon gun battles, while a mountain man group handed out cobbler made in their dutch oven... just like they did on the trail over a century ago. Attendees also got to witness a real sword fight demonstration by professional re-enactors dressed in medieval garb. And for those more interested in hands-on activities, archery and air guns were available for all to use for free ! More adventurous guests tried their hand at sporting clays under the instruction of a certified trainer.

And then there was the food ! Massive quantities of tri-tip, pork ribs, chicken and kielbasa.... with fresh watermelon, corn on the cob and much more were provided for all. And let's not forget the sno-cones and desserts that were also on hand.

After the feast came the event that everyone was waiting for.... the prize drawing. 17 people walked away with prizes that included a cross-bow, a full auto pellet gun, fishing poles and more.

But the big winners of the day were the two visitors who won firearms. For the FIRST TIME EVER, both winners were actually in attendance.

First to be selected was the winner of the Benelli Nova Pump 12 gauge shotgun....... after slowly reading off all six numbers, up jumped an ecstatic Chris Giangreco with the winning ticket number 586906 !

Shortly thereafter we read through the numbers for the second gun, a sexy looking Smith and Wesson MP 15-22. When the last number was read there was a long silence..... until a very happy Stephen Monfort started whooping it up after realizing he had the winning ticket , number 635963.

Congratulations to Chris and Steve for being the big winners in 2010 !!!!
